I sell on Ebay.
I love it. It's fun. It is an excellent community and simple interface and I can't say enough good things about it.
To be really successful on Ebay, you need to become a brand that people can rely on for quality merchandise and a good value at a fair price.
The challenge for me was finding a good product, that I could get a steady supply of at a low cost that could be sold at a fair profit.
So it occurred to me at some point that the one thing I need to get a really good wholesale supplier of not just low-cost items, but free items, so that it would be worth the time and effort it takes to give a customer a great experience that they enjoy coming back to.
It occurred to me at some point that the one product that I have a steady supply of for free is ideas.
By selling ideas, I am my wholesale supplier. The next step is to find someone who will buy your ideas.
In my research I found a few companies who buy wholesale ideas. Associated Content is a company that pays you for any well-written articles about any idea or any subject.
The average pay is $4 per article and then $1.50 per 1000 views of your article.
I did the math on how much it would cost to match my per hour salary on one of my dayjobs. It would be a more than 25 articles per day every week. That's alot of ideas.
Well I decided to test the waters and signed up for Associated Content and submitted my first article about the first idea that occurred to me namely, "How to Procrastinate Successfully."
They were very prompt with getting back to me which I like. Here's the response:
"Your submission How to Procrastinate Successfully has been declined for upfront payment by Associated Content. However, this content can still earn money for you!
Access the My Content tab to:
- Publish your content for performance payments only.
- Read why you did not receive an upfront payment offer.
- Edit and resubmit your content for review.
- Delete your content.
Check the My Account tab frequently for content submission ideas. For other tips on submitting content, please visit our Community Resources tab and review the submission guidelines."
I went to My Account tab to read why they declined it and they said, "AC is building a unique library of online content, and this submission doesn't differ enough in topic or breadth from existing content."
So one of my options was to submit for performance payment only. Here's how that works according to their website: "If a PPM™ for a particular piece of content is $1.50, for every 30000 page views, you receive a $45.00 performance payment."
Since I acquired expertise on how to get my writing rejected by Associated Content, I decided to investigate how to get my writing accepted by them.
After reading blogs of successful Associated Content producers, they path to payment seems to be writing articles that will attract google adsense.
Imagine your article as a money magnet. It should be a keyword dense attractor of lucrative ads, because that is after all how Associated pays their bills.
Now that I know that I have the framework that I need to write more marketable content that will satisfy both of all of my customers: the reader, Associated Content and the bloggers who want to borrow my writing from Associated Content.

I Want to Learn Ways to Make Money
Halloween.
Oct 31, 2007. That is the day that I made a decision which I intend to affect me for the rest of my life.
I basically quietly said to myself: I want to learn ways to make money online which will guarantee that I never, ever, have to walk back into somebody's office and report to another human being for as long as I live.
I want to wake up not dreading going into an office. I want to not be too cold one minute and too hot the next while everyone fights for dominance over the thermostat.
I want to not be in the middle of petty power struggles, where instead of focusing on doing the task at hand, we constantly play out unresolved self-esteem and sibling rivalry issues and control dramas masquerading as chain-of-command.
Enough.
Life, at its best, is too short and too sweet to not live it to its fullest.
So I rushed home anguished and resolved to find the fastest way for me to start making money online.
While I was looking for real possibilities, I stumbled upon a professional blogger's site who talked about 12 steps to make $4500 dollars per month online.
I wouldn't mind making $4500 per month (or more) online, so I read on.
Step number 5 spoke loudly and clearly to me when he said:
"5. PayPerPost - This will be your most guaranteed money maker."
That was it.
That was the action item I needed right there.
PayPerPost I could do right now. He didn't say you will make $4500 a month with PayPerPost. He said, "PayPerPost this will be your most guaranteed money maker."
The certainty that I will receive direct pay per post, as a return on investment of my labor, which goes to me and my loved ones, that assurance was music to my ears.
Imagine, me, finally, knowing that I don't need to feel that constant low-grade anxiety in the pit of my stomach and the accumulated tension in my shoulder, when all my money is coming from one job that could lay me off.
I've been through three company layoffs. They're terribly rattling. One I survived, the other two I was let go because we all did such a bang up job that we got bought out and shown out.
Because of that history, I always knew I wanted to have multiple streams of income in this fluid economy.
I've done the graveyard shift thing as my second stream in my multiple streams. Let me just say that two hours of sleep and 12 hours of sleepwalking lowers your quality of life, no matter how much you could potentially make.
PayPerPost is excellent because it is a single source of multiple streams. How perfect is that?
I post when I want to, based on my internal clock, rather than my alarm clock. I actually receive pay per post talking about things I enjoy, so I get to keep my integrity, since I will only write about stuff I feel good about.
Plus I have the smug satisfaction that my only income is not coming from propping up someone else's enterprise at the expense of my time--a resource more precious than money ever will be.
PayPerPost is doable. Blogs must be at least 90 days old in order to participate, as per their terms of service. Blog age is counted from the blog's first post. Also, a blog must have at least 20 pre-existing posts prior to using their service.
But I can start doing working toward it now. So I am. I cannot emphasize how good this feels to write my first post and be on a path to write my own checks, and give me my own raises.
I want PayPerPost to work for me and for anybody else that is seeking to be financially free, repair their dignity and look forward to their future.
This feels so good.
Act as if there's no tomorrow and the sky's the limit. Act as if you wanted to live the life you want, on your terms, happy, free, knowing that the fruit of your labor was going to to you and your enterprises, rather than to finance someone else's indulgences.
Halloween.
Oct. 31 2007. My happiest Halloween ever. That's the day that put me on the path, to make my own future as I teach and learn ways to make money on my terms, from anywhere in the world, forever.
